According to Deutschlandfunk, biologist and bestselling author Dr. Peter Spork is not only “one of Germany’s leading science authors,” but also “the man who popularized epigenetics.” He studied biology, anthropology, and psychology in Marburg and Hamburg and received his doctorate in neurobiology/biocybernetics.
Since 1991, the author of “The Sleep Book,” “Wake Up!”, and other successful nonfiction books, which have been translated into ten languages, has written articles for almost all major German-language newspapers and magazines. His book “The Second Code” was published in 2009. It was the first popular science book on epigenetics. In his Spiegel bestseller “Health Is No Coincidence,” he describes why new findings in molecular biology are changing our perspective on health and heredity. His new book, “Measuring Life,” was published in March 2021. Spork’s “Newsletter Epigenetics,” which he publishes together with a panel of epigeneticists, and the online magazine Heritage & Environment, published by RiffReporter, are also long established.
